OG for Intervention, OGA Associate Level 1
MDI’s OG Intervention training employs the Orton-Gillingham Approach to equip instructors with the skills necessary to teach foundational reading, writing, and spelling to students who demonstrate characteristics of dyslexia in a one-on-one or small group setting. The course includes a supervised practicum that offers guided, hands-on practice in applying the theoretical knowledge and instructional techniques learned during the course. This is both a unique and essential component of MDI’s training.
Upcoming training dates can be found here.

MDI has received a training grant from the State of Michigan Department of Education (MDE) for Public School Districts, ISDs and ESAs to train public school teachers and staff in the recognition of dyslexia and how to teach all children to read using the Orton-Gillingham Approach. The grant requires participation of groups of teachers within the same school or district. ISDs may also apply. Individual teacher participation does not meet this criteria.
