Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators


  • The Academy, approved by the Board of Regents of the State University of New York and operating under New York State Education Law, is the sole organization in the country established expressly to certify persons and accredit programs in the Orton-Gillingham Approach.


  • The Academy certifies individuals at five levels (Subscriber, Classroom Educator, Associate, Certified, and Fellow). Fellows possess the highest level of professional competency and experience recognized by the Academy. 


  • The Institute is unique in Michigan in that its training programs are facilitated by a fellow of the Academy and follow the high curricular and practice standards set by the Academy.
